 ST

Sheila Titterington
I have been a school governor for 8 years.   My two children attended Lutterworth College. I am a qualified teacher and have taught in 11-19, 14-19, schools and an FE college. I have also worked for the Premier League, as a Chief Examiner at GCSE and A level and as an External Verifier for NOCN, as a consultant for Edexcel, and as an NVQ Assessor and Internal Verifier in the workplace. In my spare time I enjoy making and decorating celebration cakes, floral art, reading and looking after my grandchildren.

Paul Hostead: Headteacher

I have worked in education for the last 13 years specialising in 14-19 education and was previously an Assistant Principal of Lutterworth College.  As the lead of the team that put the bid together to open Sir Frank Whittle Studio School I am extremely dedicated to ensuring that the school can be the best it can be and have high expectations of my staff and students in working together in achieving this.  Prior to becoming a teacher I worked as a Project Manager for the UK’s largest supermarket chain and prior to that was a Quality Auditor and Business Analyst for a multinational engineering and power generation company.  This experience means that I have the “real world” experience to back up all that we try and achieve at Sir Frank Whittle.  In my spare time in enjoy playing the drums as well as spending time with my family and two rescue dogs, a Bassett Hound called Frank and a St Bernard called Toby!

 ET

Elaine Turner

I have lived in Bitteswell for over 60 years and attended Lutterworth Grammar School. I have three children and five grandchildren who have also attended the school. I retired from my position with Barclays Bank as Risk Manager. I am very involved with the Lutterworth Rotary Club and I audit the books of several local organisations.  My hobbies are gardening (I hold the Royal Horticultural Diploma in Horticulture), travel, theatre going and I undertake voluntary work within the community.  My experience in training and motivating large teams of staff in my profession and in life itself have equipped me with life skills which may be valuable in my role as Governor.

 NW

Nina Woodcock, Chair of the SFWSS Committee

I retired in 2016 from the Education Funding Agency of the DfE where I provided support and advice on ICT procurement to proposer groups for Free Schools, University Technical Colleges and Studio Schools.  I was previously Head of Capital Programmes at Becta (government education and technology agency which was closed in 2011).  Originally a science teacher, I taught in Kenya in the 1980s and then in Derbyshire and Leicester before changing career to work in ICT in education: initially as the technical manager and project director of an ICT training provider before moving to Becta to work on the Academies programme. I believe my wide ranging experience in the education world and up to date knowledge of current government capital programmes for schools is of great benefit to the governing body.

Sophie Bird, Staff Representative

I was employed as a Personal Coach at the launch of the Sir Frank Whittle Studio School and then as my role developed, appointed to Senior Coach. Whilst my children were young, I worked as a Teaching Assistant at Lutterworth College for several years, where I specialised in academic intervention, learning support and self-motivation. Previously, I was employed as National Training Manager for an international finance company. My position in sales and training involved the development of the sales team that provided multimillion pound funding for recruitment consultancies nationwide.  Within my role, I integrated a coaching programme that assisted the commercial success of the sales team, generating record revenue and exceeding target profits. Through these experiences, I recognise what personal attributes are required to succeed in a business environment and I am extremely passionate about empowering young adults, through coaching, to achieve their ambitions and aspirations.

I have worked in the print trade for the last 22 years starting as a school leaver at 16.  I have worked in all areas of the industry culminating in me setting up my own company 12 years ago.  I have been fortunate enough to grow and expand my companies over the years and am now the Managing Director of Pure Point of Sale Ltd who service a number of Blue Chip Retailers in the UK and Europe and we have experienced great success and growth over the last few years.  In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and fast cars.
