Dress Code

We have a business dress code at the Sir Frank Whittle Studio School for the following reasons:

  •  It instils professionalism in our students and pride in their appearance
  •  It helps reinforce a strong professional work ethic
  •  It allows a degree of individuality
  •  The Sir Frank Whittle Studio School pin allows employers and the community to identify our students
  •  Students may require similar attire on work placements


Dress Code

  • Business suit in black, grey or navy or tailored ‘separates’ – i.e. jacket in black, grey or navy with trousers, skirt or dress in black, grey or navy
  • Shirt/blouse in a plain colour or fine stripe
  • Skirts/dresses must be knee lengthFlesh coloured or black tights for female students (when wearing a dress or skirt)
  • A suitable business tie – for male students
  • A Sir Frank Whittle Studio School pin badge
  • Formal shoes – not Vans, Nike, trainers, canvas or deck shoes etc.
  • Sports students may wear the official Sir Frank Whittle Studio School sports kit but must have the above for formal occasions and school visits.
