From The Lutterworth Academies Trust Board

It is with mixed feelings that we announce that our Executive Principal, Andrew Cooper, will be leaving the academy trust in the coming months.  He will become the Chief Executive of Barnfield Academy Trust in Luton, a multi-academy trust comprising of 5 academies.  Elisabeth Baines (Chair of the Board of Directors) said in announcing the news, "Andrew has been recruited to his new role due to recognition from the Department for Education of the fantastic job he has done at Lutterworth College.  Andrew's new post could have been created with him in mind and we will be sorry to see him go, but wish him all the best in the future."

We are excited about the future of the schools' trust.  Andrew has provided visionary leadership and we have made significant steps forward in recent years.  Having appointed two excellent Heads of School, we are confident that Andrew will be leaving the trust in a stronger position than when he joined it.

Ben Solly is the Head of College, "I joined Lutterworth College this Summer, just as the school received its best ever GCSE results.  It has been an exciting few months as Andrew has handed over the reins to me.  We have an enthusiastic, highly skilled and experienced staff team, who work tirelessly to serve the student body and make being part of the College such a great experience.  But of course, what really makes the College is the wonderful students who study here.  Visitors comment on the great atmosphere in the school and the consideration and welcome they receive from everyone they meet.  It's been a great community to join and there is a feeling that the school is going from strength to strength."

Now is a time of significant change in education, both locally and nationally.  There are many exciting opportunities for both our schools which we are keen to grab with both hands.  Student intake numbers for next September are healthy and we have every confidence for the future.

Paul Hostead, Head of the newly opened Sir Frank Whittle Studio School, is also excited about the future.  "Now we've opened with our first intake of students, the Studio School is off to a great start!  A recent Ofsted visit was hugely encouraging.  We have dedicated, expert staff who work relentlessly to ensure that students are making the best progress possible, whether at school or on their work placements. Next year's students have already signed up – we are a small school so places are limited although we could probably squeeze in one or two more, so please ensure you get an application in as soon as possible!"

The board is currently making arrangements to cover the duties of the executive principal and hope to make further announcements in the coming weeks.
